Political Leadership and Weaver-Artisan Cell Contributions

As State Co-Convenor of the BJP’s Weaver-Artisan Cell in Uttar Pradesh,
Kshipra has connected over 2.5 lakh artisans and weavers with BJP ideology , made almost 1 lakh BJP members including almost 50% women.

In a program “Dharohar” , mahila karigar bunkar samagam in Lucknow , (dedicated to women artisans & weavers of UP) , in which Smt Smriti Irani was the chief guest; 5000 artisans took BJP membership under one roof , at one time .

Her political initiatives include:
– Leading the Weaver-Artisan Cell to address weavers’ socio-economic challenges, inspired by BJP’s Bunkar Samar Shankhnad event.
-Organized events like काशी एक, रूप अनेक (Varanasi, 2020, with PM Narendra Modi), Weaving Relations, Textile Traditions (Delhi, 2020), and Kolkata Karigar Conclave (2021, with Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar).
– Empowering 1,000+ Scheduled Tribe artisans through काशी में आदिवासी (Varanasi, 2021).

During COVID-19, Kshipra organized 100+ medicine camps, providing food and medical aid to communities.

About Kshipra Shukla

Kshipra Shukla is an Indian politician, serving as Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Design & Research (UPIDR) since 2017 till date ; State Co-Convenor of the Weaver-Artisan Cell, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Uttar Pradesh since 2021.
Based in Lucknow, working extensively for women empowerment, upliftment of Weavers&Artisans for a Self Reliant India alligning with Hon’ble PM Sri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Women Empowerment Initiatives
It had been Kshipra Shukla’s mission to Empower Women by opening up Employment opportunities for them ; transformative contributions including:
– Trained 40,000+ women artisans across 35+ Uttar Pradesh districts, fostering financial independence through Skilling , Reskilling Upskilling !

Imparted Design Workshops for the jail inmates to make them Self Employed .

– Registered 5,000 women on “Gem Portal” , a step to make women entrepreneurs , also opening up new avenues for them so that they are eligible for Govt Supplies ..
– Launched “सम्मान , कौशल से भविष्य निर्माण”, a craft-based training program for girls /boys living in shelter homes, equipping them with entrepreneurial skills so that they may earn their livelihood with dignity once they are out in Social Structure.

Conducted 5,000+ Design Development workshops, with 50% women participants, to enhance craft quality , giving them insight for global market , inspired with PM Hon’ble PM Sri Narendra Modi ji’s “Vocal for Local “ mantra .

Leadership at UPIDR
As UPIDR Chairman, Kshipra transformed the MSME Department initiative into an 11-acre campus in Lucknow, inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. Achievements include:
– Enrolling 400+ students in AICTE-approved design diploma and graduate programs.
– Training 75,000+ artisans under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.
– Organizing buyer-seller meets to connect artisans with international markets.

Education and Background
A Lucknow native, Kshipra topped double Master’s degrees in Journalism & Mass Communication and Medieval & Modern Indian History from Lucknow University. She studied Accessories & Handicraft Development at NIFT, Delhi, and worked 18 years in the export industry with brands like Anthropologie, Nordstrom, and Macy’s.

Family Legacy and Vision
Kshipra hails from a BJP family; her father, Sri Ram Kumar Shukla, was a three-term MLA. Her family runs schools in Lucknow since 1981, with one branch’s foundation laid by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A former ABVP activist, Kshipra’s nationalistic vision drives her to build a culturally vibrant, self-reliant India.
